Service design is taking a role in “policy creation”. Not only does it bring in-depth insights in the needs and constraints of citizens, it also enables and facilitates processes of co-creation with different stakeholders.

The health sector today is faced with enormous challenges and in need of radical innovation. We find it valuable to show how service design is engaging on different levels with these challenges and helping to re-invent and co-create a better future.

These questions were the foundation for Service Design Network Denmark’s celebration of Service Design Day at our morning event in Copenhagen.

It’s right about time for the Polish community of service designers to integrate and form intrinsically driven movement across the sectors and regions. With this idea in mind, on 19th of May 2018, the newly founded SDN Poland Chapter held its inauguration event.

Service Design Day is a day dedicated to service design enthusiasts all around the world! We want to bring people together from different background and disciplines. Together, we will celebrate service design, raise awareness and create impact this year on June 1!

The SDN German Chapter is looking forward to celebrating this year's Service Design Day together with the community and all people who like to share their best service experience with the world!

Following the successful NORDIC SERVICE DESIGN: Skåne Screening, a group of design professionals from various companies in Malmö joined SDN Skåne to create more events and activities to meet the needs of the local design community. There are not a lot of events for design professionals to meet up and discuss ideas, challenges or issues that relate to us all.

The new SDN Poland Chapter started it's activities with a bang and created quite the buzz in a very short time when entering the scene. Now they are sharing how they managed to generate 10.000+ views with a few messages resulting in creating a regional service design community of over 200 members within a week.

“Service Design at Scale” is a challenge that has arisen out of success, but has no simple answers. The increasingly large mandate, and set of responsibilities, enjoyed by service designers comes with new challenges. In this new issue of Touchpoint, we turn our focus to making our work grow beyond us; spreading the power and value of service design across entire organisations.

SDN is thrilled to become a partner of Cumulus International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media. The partnership agreement was signed at the Cumulus Conference in Paris on 11-13 April 2018.
