Service Design in Healthcare

Sharing innovative care model designs that guide our patients through from living well to leaving well.

Another successful SDN Singapore Chapter event hosted at the Centre for Healthcare Innovation(CHI). Participants were shown to an interactive guided tour to CHI’s Living Lab and learn how Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) looks at innovative care model designs that guide our patients through from living well to leaving well.

Special thanks to our speakers Kun Ming (Industrial Designer at TTSH) and Zhide and Nicolette (Design Technologist and Design Researcher, currently at GovTech and previously from KTPH) for an insightful sharing session on the many meaningful projects in the domain of service design that healthcare has embodied.

We were all intrigued by Zhide and Nicolette’s sharing on the Decision Tree project which aimed to make Advanced Care Planning (ACP) conversations lighthearted and lowered the barriers by understanding the behaviour of children, parents, and grandparents. As aptly shared by Kun Ming, “Culture eats Service Design strategy for breakfast.” The role of a service designer is changing and innovating we need to encourage and enable innovation process with the ground.

Thank you, Centre for Healthcare Innovation and Tan Tock Seng Hospital for hosting and providing refreshments for this SDN Singapore event.

Service designers work within a unique context.
