The service design education in China began around 2010, with the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University of the Arts and others universities taking the lead in exploring and practising service design education. For response to the needs of industry and the development of design education, service design education has showed significant growth in Chinese colleges from 2015.

China Higher Education of Service Design Survey Report 2021

SDN Beijing had been conducting surveys on service design education in China since 2016, to present the development of service design education and promote communication between Chinese and international service design community.

The China Higher Education of Service Design Survey Report is based on the fourth survey in 2021, presents the development of service design in China over the past 10 years and also identifies 69 colleges and 140 teachers who are currently conducting education and research related to service design.

The report will help to improve the general understanding of the development of service design education in China, and also provide detailed information on the institutions and teachers conducting service design education in China.
