The SDN Accreditation Programme is an independent certification confirming that you have met established criteria and competencies within the field of service design.
Being accredited by the SDN, the leading non-profit institution for expertise in service design, elevates your profile and translates into trust and credibility among customers, new business prospects and employers in an ever expanding industry where service design is becoming the new normal.
Our goal is to establish a recognised level of expertise for service designers working in the industry. There are four levels of SDN accreditation you can apply for, depending on your experience and proficiency with the practice of service design:
SDN Accredited Service Design Practitioner
“I have fundamental knowledge and some initial practical application of service design principles, processes, methods and tools. Along with that, I am engaged within the service design community.”
Pre-requisites:
- 1+ year of experience and/or completion of service design education/training
- Completion of 1 service design project or capstone/training case
- Meet core competencies as a service design practitioner
PROCESS: REGISTRATION, APPLICATION, EXAM

SDN Accredited Service Design Professional
“I have advanced knowledge and practical experience in performing service design at a consistently high level. I also have the capacity to teach fundamental service design concepts and principles. I am actively engaged within the service design community.”

- 2+ years of experience
- Completion of 2+ service design projects
- Meet core competencies as a service design professional

SDN Accredited Service Design Master
“I have extensive knowledge, refined skills and prolonged experience in carrying out service design at the highest standards. I also have the capacity to provide advanced service design training and consultation to others in the application of service design within organisations. I am actively engaged with, and demonstrate thought leadership within, the service design community.”
Pre-requisites:
- 4+ years of experience
- Completion of 5+ service design projects
- Meet core competencies as a service design master

SDN Accredited Service Design Organisation
“As an organisation, we provide service design education, qualification or consultancy at a consistently high standard. Our team has the knowledge and practical experience to carry out service design projects, consultancy initiatives, and/or deliver service design training. Our organisation is actively engaged with, and demonstrates thought leadership within the service design community.”
Pre-requisites:
- 2+ representatives from your organisation hold either an SDN Service Design Professional or Service Design Master accreditation
- 1+ SDN Accredited Service Design Professional or Service Design Master from your organisation is engaged in any service design consultancy project and/or training you deliver to your clients
