About this Event

SDN Chicago honors Service Design Day with a Virtual Workshop

We invite you to join the Chicago Service Design Network Chapter in the “Do Good-Give Back” campaign as we get hands-on in a free virtual workshop. The workshop is planned in two parts (Saturday afternoon and Monday evening) to help maximize the experience. This year we are excited to be partnering with Intuit, The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, a local Chicago-based nonprofit organization.

About the Event

Participants will work on teams facilitated by experts in service design. Relevant materials and a series of design exercises will be used to guide participants to solve a real-world challenge. This is designed to be a hands-on learning event where even the most novice beginner will walk away with skills that they can apply to their own design practice.

Free event, but monetary donations will be collected for the Art nonprofit organization.

Schedule

May 30, Saturday 12:30–5 pm CT and June 1, Monday 5–7:30 pm CT via Zoom.

Important note: we will need committed participants for both days to help ensure the quality of the output to present live to the Intuit Art Center stakeholders.

By the end of the workshop, the attendees will:

  • Learn how to frame and reframe problems to unlock innovation
  • Learn how to generate exciting ideas and create human-centered service concepts
  • Learn the craft of delivering elevator pitches for service concepts
