Learn more about these three views into advanced service design doing: collaboration, prototyping, and journey mapping in this SDN Academy Masterclass.

What to expect?

This short course gives three perspectives into different topics of advanced service design doing. Along with the 12 commandments of service design doing from the book “This is Service Design Doing”, the three main authors of this book give insights into three particular aspects of service design:

Make it accessible – Advanced Journey Mapping with digital tools (Marc Stickdorn)

Make it playable – Advanced Prototyping in Service Design (Markus Hormess)

Make it flow - Advanced Collaboration in workshops and projects (Adam Lawrence)

What are the takeaways from this training?

  • how to evaluate journey maps

  • an overview of different data types and how these can be visualised on a journey map

  • how you can show multiple journeys on one journey map

  • how you can apply a concise selection of deceptively simple prototyping tools

  • methods that allow you to prototype physical or digital offerings

  • how to strategically build your own prototyping stack

  • ways to recognise collaboration deficits which may prevent great work

  • group behaviours that support successful co-design

  • how they can be facilitated or "difficultated."

Who is this course for?

Service designers and design leads; UX designers, design researchers, leadership, anyone leading or participating in collaborative design projects.

Course prerequisites

Experience of journey mapping, prototyping, and facilitation will be useful but is not essential.
