Cape Peninsula University of Technology, a university in Cape Town, South Africa, is the only university of Technology in the Western Cape province, and is also the largest university in the province.

The vision of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology is to be at the heart of technology education and innovation in Africa. The university has four main aims; to build a university that is highly efficient, sustainable and environmentally conscious, to be known for the high quality of our teaching and learning and the relevance of our curriculum, to create a vibrant and well resourced living and learning environment for our students, and to enhance and develop the quality and effectiveness of our research and knowledge production.

The Faculty of Informatics and Design at CPUT focuses on the exploration and implementation of solutions to many of today’s challenges. Projects range from design for social development, cultural identities, environmental impact and biomimicry, sustainability, service delivery, medical accessibility and health and well-being, among others. A focus on research, practice, industry collaboration and sustainable innovation runs through all programmes and activities. The faculty specialises in a number of fields, including: Architectural Technology, Fashion Design, Film and Video Technology, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Information Technology, Interior Design, Jewellery Design, Journalism, Photography, Public Relations Management, Scholarship and Professional Practice, Surface Design, and Town and Regional Planning. This unique combination of programmes allows for greater multidisciplinary interactions and subjects.
