About SDN
Service Design Network was founded in 2004 to strengthen the theory and practice of service design. As a predominately volunteer-driven organisation, we execute our mission through the content we create and share, the events we host, the communities we bring together, the awards we bestow and the outreach activities we undertake. Thanks to our ability to work conjointly with an engaged community of passionate professionals, academics and curious innovators, SDN is raising the profile and application of service design for the betterment of business, government and society at-large.
About the role
The Service Design Network is looking for an outgoing, self-motivated and independent Visual Design Lead for supporting our activities. This is a part-time position (20h/week), and we look forward to all applications within the German country, preferably you are located in the Cologne area.
The Visual Design Lead will:
- Support the digital marketing team, producing visuals for promotional communication.
- Creation and edition of visual design templates for the HQ, Leadership team, SDN Chapters and boards to use independently (Canva and Adobe Suite).
- Overview and manage the Visual Brand Identity. Support with the creation of official in-house documents such as the Corporate Identity Overview and the Company Playbook
- Lead and support the creative process, as well as the realization and coordination, of the main company events identity, material design and promotional campaigns (e.g. SDGC).
- Support the event team with the coordination of the on-site conference, concerning research and coordination with the print shop and handling of the printed material within the venue.
- Visual databank management to enable transparent access to and re-usage of all visual media
- Stay updated with current visual trends to improve the imagery of the promotional content.
- Creating short videos and providing creative advice for the creation of diverse types of visuals.
Your skills
- Safe handle of the Adobe Suit package (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Premiere Pro), as well as Canva and PowerPoint.
- Experience in working with websites’ backend.
- Experience in working with the Wix websites builder.
- Experience in monitoring the coordination of the creative process on platforms like Miro Board and Trello.
- Safe handle of administrational Google programs (Drive, Calendar, Sheets).
- Experience in coordinating communication within the team, as well as keeping contacts and supporting third parties for the realization of consistent designs.
- Experience in reporting and drawing OKRs and bi-monthly reports.

- Compensation is leaning to TVL labour agreement, with grading depending on your educational and professional background.
