The School of Design and the Institute of Design Innovation at The Glasgow School of Art seek an experienced, dynamic and talented lecturer and researcher to join the Product Design & Design Innovation teaching team. The post will require knowledge of contemporary approaches to design practice, in particular, an appreciation of the Design for Experience approach synonymous with GSA and its graduates. The candidate will possess teaching experience, a research profile (or the capacity to develop such a profile) and a commitment to design practice as a mode of enquiry capable of exploring and evaluating the manner by which possible futures become preferable futures.
You will possess a degree in Product Design or a related discipline, and will ideally possess a postgraduate qualification (or significant industry experience). The candidate should also have experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level within Higher Education and experience of working in a collaborative team environment. In particular, you should demonstrate an exemplary understanding of the recent evolution of Service Design as a discipline and practice, its methods, tools and techniques. Further, you should evidence a willingness and desire to contribute to international debates regarding the evolution of teaching and research in your area of expertise.
Salary: Grade 7, £36,672 – £46,414 per annum pro rata
