Service Design Day – Without breaking there is no opportunity for creating

No Breaking, No Creating.

The 2018 #ServiceDesignDay event was successfully held by SDN Shanghai. The event was divided into two parts – keynotes and group discussions in the afternoon and a Pecha Kucha party in the evening.

In the afternoon session, 3 major topics relating to service design were discussed. These include:

  • Chief Design Operator (CDO)
  • Technology and Design
  • Space, Creativity, Human

This was followed by a presentation on case studies regarding the present and future of service design. SDN Shanghai invited innovators, decision makers, and influential people from across various sectors such as healthcare, education, real estate, the media, internet, new retail and technology to the workshop where we envisioned the innovative applications of service design in all sectors and platforms.

The evening event was hosted in a Party+Pecha Kucha style. SDN Shanghai excitedly decorated the office into a vibrant space. We also designed activities including an Instagram frame for photo shooting etc. Our host, Summer led the entire group of guests into the Pecha Kucha party where the outstanding design cases selected in China in 2017 were shared.

SDN Shanghai has successfully gathered leaders in various fields to share and discuss service design, leaving all participants inspired and motivated about utilizing a service design methodology in their own work. SDN Shanghai will continue to be the leader in spreading the idea of localizing service design in China. Cheers to another fruitful year of service design and SDN Shanghai!
