Driving innovative development with service design, creative problem solving and holistic data

Eeva-Lotta El Hosri University of Jyväskylä, Commercialisation Champion / Service Designer

For a decade, I worked in the growth marketing sector, driving data-driven digital strategies for growth companies in e-commerce, sustainable energy, and circular tech. The longer I spent in the performance optimisation-focused surroundings, the more I learnt its limitations and felt a strong pull to seek other ways to create growth and impact. This is when I got fascinated by service design and the design thinking approach, and found my way to become a designer.

Currently, I apply and study service design methods within the academic research commercialisation, as I recognise an immense potential for it in shaping the commercial identity of scientific innovations through facilitating knowledge transfer and collaboration and in integrating user and market needs into the early steps of innovation development.

If this resonates, I would love to connect and collaborate!

I'm also an active volunteer within the SDN Finland chapter and one of the creators of the Service Design Café small group gathering concept.

To me, service design means...

Service design is not just a set of tools and methods, but rather a philosophy and a mentality to approach development and innovation with. This is why I find it so utterly exciting, as its potential in how and where it can be applied is limitless.
