About Bertrand Lirette
Passionate Service Designer
Among other things, I am currently working as a technician for teaching and research projects at the Design School of Université Laval in Quebec City. I'm also the director of the programming committee of the biggest French digital event in North America, the Web à Québec. I graduated in multimedia integration techniques and in social sciences with a psychology and sociology profile. I try to combine my interests and to evangelize about interaction design, user experience and service design by organizing networking events and recording podcasts with the group that I cofounded, Design Québec. I volunteer for Service Design Canada and Service Design Network, both non-profits engaged in the growth of service design in Canada and internationally. I also sit as the vice president of design on the board of directors of the world-class dance events non-profit, Hit The Floor. To know more about my volunteering in the last decades, you can watch my talk "Retour sur l’investissement…(bénévole)" (French only) for Creative Mornings where I talk among other things about the non-profit I founded, Québec B-Boys.
To me, service design means...
Identifying the right problem and solve it with the right solution, however creative this needs to be.
