​About Yulya Besplemennova

Yulya Besplemennova is a designer and researcher specializing in the intersection of emerging technologies, complex systems, and service innovation. 

As a Partner at oblo and Scientific Coordinator of ServiceDesignTools.org, she has over a decade of experience collaborating with diverse organizations—from startups to the United Nations—focusing on designing impactful experiences by understanding stakeholder needs and systemic complexities. 

Since 2019, Yulya has led oblo's AI-related projects, developing step-by-step methods and tools to help designers navigate the complexities of AI technologies. Her work emphasizes advancing design methodologies through continuous experimentation and interdisciplinary learning, moving beyond human-centered design towards planetary thinking. 

Yulya shares her expertise as an educator at leading Italian design institutions and through specialized professional training programs. She is also an active speaker, having led workshops such as "Designing AI-enabled Services" at events like UX Lisbon and given talks at international conferences like Intersection, Service Design Global, Designing with AI by Rosenfeld Media, etc.
