About Shahrzad's talk:

Empathy is generally considered a critical part of design, so much so that designers often describe their role as “the voice of the user”. For service designers, who are tasked with shaping the roles of humans (not just users) throughout product-service systems, empathy is not enough. In this talk, I’ll introduce a framework for integrating not just empathy but compassion into the work we all do.

Shahrzad Samadzadeh is a Senior Director and designer at Visa who specializes in combining practices from service design and futurology with deep business savvy to design the products, services, and business models of the future.
