Chapter events - United States

Recent events are a sobering reminder of our country's long and troubled history of racial inequality and injustice. Design is not immune to this. We have a responsibility to shine light on factors at play within our own space as well as to consider actions we can take to be better.

The SDN NYC is grateful to have George Aye spend an evening sharing his point of view on lessons learned from his work at Greater Good Studio (http://greatergoodstudio.com/) and facilitating intimate discussion about our relationship with power and privilege. We will spend time listening, asking questions and having discussions in small groups leveraging Zoom's breakout room feature.

About our Speaker –

Previously, he spent seven years at global innovation firm IDEO before being hired as the first human-centered designer at the Chicago Transit Authority. Since founding Greater Good, he has worked across complex social issues such as criminal justice, civic engagement, public education, public health and youth development. He speaks frequently across the US and internationally. George holds the position of Full Professor (Adj) at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
