According to Deloitte Insights, in 2017, the service sector accounted for 70% of the employment rates for member countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). With service exports between 2006-2016 also showing incremental growth over manufacturing worldwide, it’s clear society has officially shifted from a product-driven model to one which relies on the service sector to power the global economy.

It stands to reason, consequently, that the need to design better services to ensure a better world has never been greater.

SDN and SDGC19: Why We Are Important

Service Design Network (SDN) is a  member-based non-profit organisation which stands as a vital link in the value-adding service chain. Committed to global development within the service design space, we offer our members access to important events, publications, learning materials and networking opportunities to support our community in remaining on the cutting-edge. The highlight of our work is unquestionably the Service Design Global Conference (SDGC19) which takes place on October 10 and 11, 2019 in Toronto, Canada.
