Call for SDGC19 Volunteers

Want to take part in the most important event the service design community attends all year? We need you!

The Service Design Network is at the height of activity in preparation for the Service Design Global Conference 2019 (SDGC) taking place in Toronto, Canada from October 10-11, 2019 (members only event takes place on October 9). An absolute “must attend” for anyone passionate about the advancement of the practice of service design, we are actively in search of committed volunteers who want to support us bring this high-profile event to life!  

By joining as a volunteer during this annual occasion, you will become an important member of our SDGC19 execution team. With a variety of activities taking place throughout the three days, volunteers will have the ability to hear, see and experience the best that service design has to offer.

Volunteer Requirements

  • A passion for service design
  • Be an active student at least 18 years of age
  • Availability from October 9-11, 2019
    (Kindly note that volunteers must be available throughout this time period. You will not be considered a suitable candidate if you cannot fulfil this requirement)
  • Ability to begin your day onsite at 7 a.m. and work between five to seven hours each day.
    (Volunteers are typically scheduled to work in 2.5 hour increments with (onsite) time-off between shifts)
  • Flexibility
  • Work well with others; be a team player!
  • Completion of our SDGC19 volunteer application

Special note: If you require a visa to enter Toronto, please be prepared to provide proof of fulfilment by September 15.

Volunteer Application Submission

The deadline for submission of your volunteer application is June 30. Please note that we will review all applications after the closing date and will get back to you if we believe you have fulfilled all requirements. Once you have confirmed your availability to volunteer, we will discuss with you your various task and responsibilities. We will continue to stay in touch in the time leading up to the event via social media groups and emails.
