Description

We can’t solve today’s complex climate challenges with yesterday’s thinking. Join other designers and climate resilience builders at our SDN SF Climate Working Group.

We are surrounded by large infrastructure projects that affect our daily lives as well as buffer humans and ecosystems from climate change effects, such as flooding. Within the large organizations that carry out these projects, there are design opportunities that can make the outcomes more understandable and meaningful to all who live near them, as well as break down internal silos in the planning process. At this meeting, we’ll be hearing from Maryam Hariri and Laurel Mathews, consultants from Ogilvy, who have been working with federal and state agencies. Come learn about how design can make a difference at large scales in shaping the world around us.

Our group has been meeting regularly since January, but newcomers are welcome. The goal of the Climate Working Group is to support the application of human-centered design and service design to address climate change through the generation of research, best practices, tools, and/or other products and projects.

Beverages will be provided, courtesy of Industrious. After the meeting, we will head to nearby San Francisco gem Fog City Diner to continue the conversation, so please join us!
