SDN Global Café - Join us on November 26!

Dear SDN Members,

You are all invited to join our next SDN Global Café event on November 26, 2024!

A virtual series aims to connect our beloved SDN members, provide more networking opportunities, and tackle relevant Service Design topics.

In this upcoming session, we will welcome Prof. Dr. Tina Weisser

Theme: Guiding Teams Through Change in a Shifting Service Design Landscape

Summary:

In this session, Tina will share insights from her ongoing research on the evolving role of leadership in service design, focusing on how to guide teams through change in a practical, human-centered way. She will present early findings from her recent study, offering a fresh perspective on leadership approaches that help navigate today’s unique challenges in service design. Together, we’ll discuss some of the pressing challenges leaders face, from managing resistance to fostering engagement in times of change.

This talk will also unpack the “change curve”—a straightforward yet powerful model that helps leaders understand the emotions and responses team members experience as they adjust to new ways of working. By exploring each stage of the change curve, Tina will demonstrate how empathetic leadership, clear communication, and flexible approaches can support teams as they move from initial resistance toward acceptance and commitment.
