Kicking Off 2020 @ Crimson DC

Kicking off the new year with a new leadership team, and continuing the growth of DC’s Service Design community.

Nearly 50 designers from all over the DMV area gathered at Crimson DC on a Thursday night. Despite being a weekday, people enthusiastically greeted familiar faces and connected with new friends to kick off the new year with their fellow designers. There was a myriad of professionals, students, newcomers, and those just starting to learn about Service Design. Everyone gathered to connect through conversations about design challenges, achievements, and the future of Service Design.

The happy hour was also a time for our Service Design community to meet our new leadership team. In addition to co-founders Aza Damood and Lisa Mendelow, 2020’s team leads are Akanksha Singh and En Jiang for Communications, Iliana Alvarado for Planning, and Cameron Hanson for SDN Relations. This year, we are expanding our leadership team to include committee members who will help support SDDC’s mission of bringing the design community together. Yosef Shuman, Molly Reed and Ashleigh Choi have already joined committees. Who else is in? Let us know by contacting us here.

This year, we plan to offer engaging events , inspiring speakers, and a fun time for our DMV designers. Make plans to join us for an exciting journey in 2020!
