Chapter events - New Zealand

PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE A CHANGE IN SPEAKER AND SLIGHT CHANGE OF TOPIC (BUT THE EVENT IS STILL IN WELLINGTON)

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Luke Procter will unfortunately not be able to present. But we are fortunate to have the wonderful Stefanie McKnight, also from IR. And will still be talking about storytelling :) Creating a compelling story needs good content but also good design. But how do you go about using visual tools to take insights and create a visually engaging output? Today’s session will go into the principles of visual design and how you can use them to maximise the story you want to tell. Topics that will be talked about include: * How meaning is formed * Semiotics * Visual elements such as proximity, line, pattern, shape, balance, colour, Gestalt principles, composition, typography * Infographics Looking forward to the session and the opportunity for us to come together to shape up an awesome 2019! The event is from 12.30-1.30pm at the IR office on 12/22 Hawkestone St, Thorndon. Meet in the foyer - someone will collect you.
