Your task:
Your task is to examine the mobility requirements of users in the urban space (Berlin) by using design research methods (empathic design studies, design probes, personas). Together with a young and highly motivated team of mediascientists and designresearches you develop the concept for the empirical research. In addition you prepare and perform the study independently as well as analyze the results and edit them for its presentation. Your outcomes represent a critical part of the preparation material for the student workshop of the Service Design Conference, held in Berlin in October 2010 which you will also accompany.
 
Besides, your working results will form the basis for the evaluation of mobility concepts and embody the initial point for the development of new prototypes. Thus, you will be able to perform the study on a very high industrial standard. To fulfill this task you will work together with skilled and experienced mediascientists and designresearchers who support you.
 
Your skills:
- methodic knowledge (and experiences) in the area of User Centered Design / Design Research
- praxisbased working method
- skilled in using computer graphictools and presentation tools
- language: English (German desired)
 
Your distinguish yourself in:
- an independent approach to work and reliability
- Creativity and openmindness
- Spirit of research and capacity for teamwork
 
You are currently rolled in as a student.
 
Time period:
Start: September 2010
Duration: 8-12 weeks (+ 3months for preparing the thesis).
