Membership
To become a Service Design Network member, companies, private firms or institutions must work professionally in the area of Service Design. There are three types of membership: scientific members, service design agencies and company members.

Universities / Scientific Members
Scientific SDN members are academic institutions conducting research and instruction in Service Design, which can demonstrate to SDN representatives their institution’s activities in Service Design research and instruction.

Service Design Agencies and Consultancies
Service Design agencies and consultancies are firms that do professional Service Design consulting and projects together with commercial, public, or non-profit organizations.

Companies
Company SDN members are industrial organizations, which operate an in-house Service Design department or which are engaged in professional service design consulting projects.

Membership Benefits
Socialise with Service Design practitioners and academics from all over the world! As a SDN Member, you will have full access to the Service Design Network Community Platform. You will be able to present yourself and your work, establish interest and discussion groups, share events and news from the world of Service Design and post job offers, announcements and discussion topics. On the SDN Platform, you can meet and talk to leading professionals and experts from the field of Service Design. Introduce your company or institution to the Service Design community! All members have the opportunity to introduce themselves with their own profile within the SDN Community Platform. Your profile page can serve you and your company as a way of promoting and sharing innovative service design processes, methods, and tools and presenting the service design projects you have realized or you are working on. Members will be able to find competent project partners and learn more about service design from educational institutions and peers. Post job offers and share your projects! As a member of the Service Design Network, you are invited to post you job offers and share your activities and projects in the journal touchpoint, in the SDN Newsletter Insider and on our website for free. Stay updated! The Service Design Network membership gives members access to current news and events from the Service Design world via our website and a bimonthly newsletter, moderated and edited by our staff. The Community Platform does also provide a great opportunity to get into contact with other Service Design agencies, universities and companies and exchange news, practices and experiences. Receive PDF of the Service Design Journal for free! Members of the Service Design Network will get a free PDF Download of the Journal touchpoint. This very first Service Design Journal is a four-monthly edition, featuring Service Design news, debates, essays, case studies, interviews, customer profiles and more. In accordance with the SDN Office, SDN members may publish professional papers on Service Design in touchpoint. Take part in the annual Service Design Conference! All Service Design Network members can join the annual Conference of the Service Design Network at a reduced fee. You will be among the first to receive information on the event, take part in the call for papers and book your tickets! There is also a special reception for SDN Members on the first conference day, which you can join for free!

Membership Fee
SDN Membership fee is 500 EUR per year. Membership always begins on January 1 and ends on December 31 of the respective membership year, regardless when the membership is purchased. However, if you would like to register as a new member between December 1 and December 31, you will pay the membership fee of 500 Euro getting membership for 2009 starting the 1st of December 2008. The membership fee must be paid in full before you can access services. After your registration is received, you will be sent an invoice for the membership fee.

Membership Termination
Termination of membership must be in writing. If termination is not received at least three months before the end of the calendar year, membership will renew automatically for the following year.

Registration
To register, you can fill out the registration directly online. You will have to agree to our “Articles of Association“ as well as to the “Service Design Network Community Platform General Terms and Conditions”.
