Design activities for tourism entrepreneurs

Design Västerbotten is one of the largest regional design projects in Sweden, and it involves companies and municipalities as well as schools and other organisations within business development. Our business advisors demonstrate how design can result in a strategic business development, as well as offering customer oriented activities and helping you to get in contact with the right designer.

Last year Design Västerbotten organised a development program for the tourism industry, in which participants were supervised by architects and industrial designers. The programme ended in January 2010 but during the spring a follow-up work will be done to identify more possible needs. At the end of April, the team will organise a workshop concerning the tourist destination Hemavan Tärnaby which will include participation of both local companies and professional designers, architects and others with expertise in the design sector. The aim is to create a new sign program, and to develop a common profile for the resorts.

At September this year, we can offer the tourist entrepreneurs in Västerbotten a development programme where we focus on the highly topical subject Service design. It will also include creation of marketing plans. In addition, the programme will involve lectures and tutorials by Industrial designers and architects.
