During the annual Service Design Conference ”Connecting the Dots“, two student days will take place with exciting workshops created by the Service Design Network in cooperation with Volkswagen and T-Labs. Apart from gaining new insights in studies, new methods and practical experiences, you will have the opportunity to strengthen your network of fellow students. The workshops will take place on the 11th and 12th of October 2010 in the “Betahaus” in Berlin. Volkswagen will run a workshop on ”Urban Mobility“.
Having dug "beyond basics" of Service Design in many interesting presentations and workshops at last year’s sdn conference, it is now time to strengthen the relation between clients and Service Designers and support the cooperation and exchange between professionals. We will present a vivid mix of different presentations, workshops and papers in order to provide you with academic and practical expertise from renowned international players in the Service Design field.

The Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) invites experts from industry and academia to discuss the next steps towards a service-led economy. The Service Summit will address the latest topics in Service Research, presented by renowned speakers. In accordance with the interdisciplinary approach of KSRI, the 2nd Karlsruhe Service Summit focuses on the multiple fields within Service Research, in particular economics and service technologies.
The annual German IA Conference will this year be held in Cologne on May 14/15. The theme of this year's conference is "Service. Design. Thinking." It looks at how to create benefits that really make a difference to the user, that are perceived as being innovative and thus strengthen the product’s or service provider’s brand in the long.

The Nordic Conference on Service Design and Service Innovation, ServDes, is the premier research conference within service design and service innovation. This year’s venue is Linköping, Sweden. Within three days the focus will be set on the growing need for research on service design.
„Tools for Creating a Service Culture“ is the topic for this one day seminar on April 16, 2010. It is hosted by the Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Leppävaara, Espoo, Finland. Playmakers, the latest project from thinkpublic’s media department, was premiered in November at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival. The project, in association with NESTA and Hide&Seek, documents the emerging field of pervasive games and explores the relationship between play, public space and new technology. The film is a thought provoking insight into 21st century forms of play. The film will be screened at a series of events in the UK and worldwide before being launched online with a Creative Commons license in 2010.
